We collect essential personal data including your name, email address, and financial transaction history. We do this strictly to provide our budgeting services, personalized AI financial insights, and to ensure the security of your account, in compliance with the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
Specifically, we may collect:
- Account information (name, email address)
- Financial transaction data (expenses, income, savings targets)
- Device information and crash diagnostics (via Firebase Crashlytics)
- Push notification tokens (for delivering notifications you opt into)
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve the Owomi budgeting and financial tracking service
- To generate AI-powered financial insights personalized to your spending
- To send you push notifications you have opted into (e.g., spending alerts, weekly recaps)
- To diagnose app crashes and improve stability
- To communicate important updates about the service
3. Third-Party Services
Owomi uses the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Supabase — Authentication, database, and backend services
- Firebase Crashlytics — Crash reporting and diagnostics
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — Push notifications
- Google Generative AI (Gemini) — AI-powered financial insights (anonymized data only)
- Mono — Bank account linking and transaction syncing (only when you explicitly connect a bank)
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
4. Your Rights Under NDPR
You have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data
- Rectify any inaccuracies in your data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw your consent for processing at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal
5. Data Security & Retention
Your data is secured using industry-standard encryption protocols. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We retain your personal information only for as long as your account remains active. If you choose to delete your account, your personal data will be permanently erased from our active servers within 30 days.
6. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the Owomi app by navigating to Profile → Delete Account. Upon deletion, all of your personal data — including transaction history, savings targets, and profile information — will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us at the address below.
7. Children's Privacy
Owomi is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.
